Premo announces the Smallest 35 Amp current sensor in the industry. Designed for automotive applications these current sensors have a maximum height of 8.5mm and occupy less than 2.7 cm2 PCB space.
Applications such as Inverters and DC/DC battery chargers for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles require minimum space and maximum power handling per cubic cm (This sensor handles 14.6A/cm3)
The new CSAU current sensor is designed with a low loss, temperature stable toroidal ferrite core which allows working frequencies over 200 kHz at operating temperatures from -40ºC up to 155ºC.
Converters for hybrid and electric vehicles work at high input voltages(400V) and isolation is a critical factor. This Premo current sensor guarantees 3kV isolation and a creepage distance > 6.5mm.
Accurate sensing of the primary current lets the system manage line and especially load regulation therby allowing the workload and optimum working point to be set, either to maximize power or to minimize power consumption or dissipation ( The sensor dissipation is less than 1W). Above all, a low DCR current sensor (typical DCR is 0.5mOHM) is an efficient tool for ZVT and ZVS full bridge topologies to minimize stress in High frequency switching MOFET’s.
The PREMO current sensor is fully AECQ-200C compliant and ready to use in AOI (Automatic Soldering Inspection) systems, as required in automotive market.
